Wow what a week.

As a footie fan, these past few days have been a bit of a rollercoaster as England battled their way through to the finals of the UEFA Euro 2024. It was touch and go for a while. The quarter-final match had us all on the edge of our seats as we went to penalties against Switzerland. The semi-finals were no smoother sailing, with The Netherlands giving us a near-heart attack with an early goal, but England bringing it back for a 2:1 win. We finally lost the battle for the cup in the finals, with Spain snatching it from our hands with a 2:1 score, ending our dreams of bringing the cup home this year.

Now, if you’re not into football, you’re probably thinking… urgh, what’s he droning on about? I don’t really care… But footie lover or hater, there’s a lot that can be learned from this year’s team. You see, playing in a major football team is a lot like running a business. First, you need good leadership and a clear vision. Next, you need a team of skilled people, all dedicated to achieving your goal. And finally, you need a solid strategy and the dedication to show up day after day, training, working, pushing yourselves harder until the cup is firmly in your hands.

Now, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I am hugely grateful to have the team that I have here at Millennium. Every single one of them is dedicated, hardworking and a true professional. But it’s not just my internal team that make the magic happen – we also have a team of external suppliers too. Think accountants, insurance brokers, web developers… a whole host of people working in the background to make Millennium run seamlessly. And you know what? Every single one of them is just as dedicated, hardworking and professional as my internal team too.

This got me thinking… How do you choose your external suppliers? How do you check that they’re trustworthy and reputable?

At Millennium Cargo, we’ve been in business for a long time – nearly 3 decades in fact! We’ve got tons of reviews and testimonials and we’ve recently got our ISO9001 reinstated to help demonstrate how trustworthy we really are. But how do you decide who to trust with your business? And how do you get others to trust you?

I’d love to hear your thoughts…
